Then, we went back to the classroom and we corrected your worksheet about
The Landlady.
Next week, we'll watch the film.

Today you had your last English test of the year.
You had to answer 10 questions about the short story you had to read for today, that is "The Landlady" by Roald Dahl.
Hope you succeeded!
Today we started a new sequence on "The Landlady", a short story by Roald Dahl.
You can read it by clicking on the image below
You were first given some information about what happened in 1959 in Britain and in the world, 1959 being the year when the story was written and is most probably set.
Then, you looked on the internet for information about what happened in 1959 in France.
For next time, you have to finish your searches and read the short story with the help of the vocabulary sheet I gave you.
Today was your last day to prepare your frontpage. One one group has finished, so for the others, you have to give them back to me on Monday 30th the very latest!
Again, if you need help to make your frontpage, just click on the image below
Don't be late!
Today we corrected all the exercises I had given you and we went on preparing your front page writing by studying the structure of newspapers, how headlines are formed and finally what is important in the writing of a newspaper artciles.
Then, you had a brainstorming in groups so as to think about what will be on your front page. Remember you have to choose between all these criterias:
- Broadsheet or tabloid
- Name of your newspaper
- Three articles (a main one and two smaller ones)
- The photos you'll include
See you next week!
